At Company B, we couldn’t be more excited for the businesses coming to our street in Walker’s Point. Known in the food and beverage biz as the place to be, South Second Street has plans of its own. Joining the already established Ginger Tapas Bar, Zak’s Cafe and Joe’s Tiki Lounge, our block continues to flourish. Black Sheep and Indulgence Chocolatiers are two new businesses opening this week alone.
Recently, the Company B staff was invited to a friends and family event host by Indulgence Chocolatiers. Frankly, we were terrified. Being in such close proximity to such an amazing chocolate, wine and cheese bar has us fearing for our waists and wallets. Our favorite pairing was their claim to fame, a salted dark chocolate truffle paired with a brut champagne recommended by owner and chocolatier, Julie Waterman. Steve Kessler, from Anodyne Coffee, also attended the event and talked to us about the new Anodyne Coffee location right down the road opening up this fall.
The long list of new businesses doesn’t stop there. Purple Door Ice Cream just announced they’ll open a scoop shop right across from Black Sheep. This new location is just blocks away from their original location but owners, Steve and Lauren Schultz, said they will be able to double their production with the new space and offer a broader selection for their customers. The project will be handled by Juli Kaufmann of Fix Development, a local business that focuses on sustainability. KPH Construction was responsible for the construction and development for Black Sheep and Company B’s new space.
With plenty of other empty buildings still available on 2nd street, we’re sure this neighborhood is far from done expanding.
