When San Francisco-Based Kimpton Hotel’s tasked us with creating an inimitable amenity for their first Milwaukee hotel, The Journeyman, we thought long and hard about the brand and message. This programming would live in the hotel and serve as a PR and marketing tool to grab the attention of national media.

To create the ultimate, can’t-live-without accessory that spoke to The Journeyman’s positioning as the launching pad for urban adventure, Company B contacted friend and local leather artisan, Heather Hambrecht to bring our vision to life–a leather backpack with tablet holders, adjustable straps, custom hardware and a branded Journeyman stamp.

Each of the suites at The Journeyman are home to one of these backpacks and more are available at the hotel’s front desk for guests to checkout.

A backpack fit to withstand a journey around the city and one that would only look better with age was our answer.

As something custom, on-trend and versatile, this signature item not only reflected the inspiration behind the hotel’s namesake, but also held longevity as an amenity for years to come.

The Journeyman backpack quickly became synonymous with the hotel and purchasing inquiries flooded in.
