Kimpton’s first Milwaukee hotel, located in the bustling Historic Third Ward, is called The Journeyman, paying homage to those who spend years honing their craft only to return home after much time spent traveling the world. The eight-story hotel designed by New York-based interiors firm Warren Red, features 158 eclectic and playful guest rooms with a nod to Milwaukee’s rich culture.

For the guest rooms, New York based interior design firm, Warren Red designed an eclectic space with residential touches. Each of the 158 guest rooms features a signature bombe chest, lacquered in a bold red and black stripe with engine numbers from Milwaukee’s old locomotives. In deference to craftsmen of the day, the designers chose a hand-hewn wood desk with a live edge and cold-rolled steel base. Above it, a polished brass faceted mirror. The guestroom bathrooms are also invitingly residential, with an open-shelved wood vanity, white subway wall tile, milk glass pendants, polished brass fixtures and grey marble hexagon flooring.
